Creative Movement/Pre-Ballet (ages 3 to 5) REGISTER HERE

Classes are held at CPYB Barn Studios, 107 Meeting House Road, Carlisle, PA
This unique summer offering combines elements of Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet and is appropriate for children ages 3 to 5 who are ready to separate from their parent and dance independently. A prelude to formal ballet instruction, students will develop a foundation for ballet technique in a learning environment that fosters a love for dance and music. Class begins with warm-up exercises and floor stretches that develop flexibility and posture, followed by standing exercises which may be done at the ballet barre, and traveling steps to encourage development of gross motor skills. Students begin to learn French vocabulary, movement expression, and proper ballet etiquette in a non-competitive atmosphere. Through this class students will dance to a combination of classical, folk and traditional music.
Tuition for Creative Movement/Pre-Ballet (two classes per week):

If tuition is paid in full by May 31, 2013: $105

Beginning Ballet Level A (ages 6+) REGISTER HERE
10:30-11:30 a.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday
Classes are held at CPYB Barn Studios, 107 Meeting House Road, Carlisle, PA
Students of all ages begin in Level A, learning the basic ballet positions, the progression of a standard ballet barre, and learning the French vocabulary that defines all the steps in ballet. These students also move into beginning center work, away from the support of the ballet barre. Level A students are required to take five classes per week, but may take additional classes if desired. Classes are held at CPYB Barn Studios.
Tuition for Beginning Ballet Level A (requirement of five classes per week):

BALLET CAMPS
Fairyland Ballet Camp (ages 3-6)
June 17-21, 2013 | 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
CPYB Barn Studios, 107 Meeting House Road, Carlisle, PA
Boys and girls will enjoy a magical week immersed in fairy tales, dancing, crafts and fun! In addition to a one-hour dance class each day, children will read, create and explore fairy tale ballets including: Cinderella, Peter Pan,The Sleeping Beauty andThe Nutcracker. Each day will conclude with a craft and snack. Children will make their own fairy wands and crowns and use their imaginations to help them “fly” in a non-competitive environment that will nurture their love of dance and make-believe! Juice, snack, and all craft materials and props are provided. Space is limited.

Storybook Ballet Camp (ages 3-6)
August 5-9, 2013 | 1:30-4:30 p.m.
CPYB Barn Studios, 107 Meeting House Road, Carlisle, PA
This camp will bring boys and girls into the world of classic storybook ballets for an enchanting week of creativity and movement! In addition to a one-hour ballet class each day, the tales of Hansel and Gretel, Coppelia and The Nutcracker will be shared throughout the week. Children will explore each story through age appropriate activities, including moving to their own choreography, using props and costumes. Older students will learn to use mime and body language to describe characters, emotion, plot and setting. In addition, students will learn about the composer as they become familiar with the music. Each day will conclude with a craft related to a storybook ballet and snack. Juice, snack and all craft materials and props are provided. Space is limited.
