Guide to CPYB’s Dance Scholarships

Ballet is an artform that is well-known and respected all around the globe. From the US to Australia, ballet has a special place in the hearts of millions. If your child or adolescent is actively involved in ballet and is seeking future opportunities, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet currently offers dance scholarships. Both male and female ballet scholarships are available for new students who will be enrolled in CPYB’s Academic Year Program.

CPYB’s Female Ballet Training Scholarship

CPYB’s Female Ballet Training scholarship provides an opportunity to truly develop ballet skills and techniques through a 5-week Summer Ballet Program along with a two-week August course. From working with world-renowned faculty to attending partnering classes and working on daily techniques, scholarship recipients will always stay occupied. The following is also included with the CPYB Female Ballet Training Scholarship:

  • Monthly housing stipend for 22 months
  • Personalized conditions program accessibility
  • Registration fees and academic tuition are covered for 2023/2024
  • Two-week August course (2023)
  • 5-Week Summer Ballet Program (2023)
Scholarship Requirements

Those interested in the Female Ballet Training Scholarship must be female and between the ages of 14 and 16. Only new students to Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet are eligible for this scholarship.

Eligibility

Individuals interested in applying for the CPYB Female Ballet Training Scholarship must not already be students of CPYB and must be enrolling in the Academic Year Program for the first time.

Audition and Application Deadlines 

Registering for the Female Ballet Training Scholarship in person is possible on August 4, 2022. The deadline for submitting a video audition is August 5, 2022.

CPYB’s Two-Year Male Ballet Scholarship

For males involved in ballet, finding a suitable or available scholarship can be even trickier, as male-supported scholarships and ballet programs are not typically as widespread. At Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, our Two-Year Male Ballet Scholarship is the perfect opportunity for men involved in ballet who are interested in uninterrupted training, mentorship, as well as the opportunity to improve technique while working alongside world-renowned faculty.  The following is with the Two-Year Male Ballet Scholarship:

  • 2023 Two-Week August Course
  • 2023 5-Week Summer Ballet Program
  • Registration fees and all academic tuition costs are covered for 2023/2024.
  • A monthly housing stipend for up to 22 months is also provided for those awarded the Two-Year Male Scholarship.
Scholarship Requirements

Boys who are interested in applying for the Two-Year Male Ballet Scholarship from CPYB must be between the ages of 14 and 19. Additionally, they cannot already be a student of CPYB or have been enrolled in any other course or program previously.

Eligibility

Those who are interested in applying for the Two-Year Male Ballet Scholarship must be male and between 14 and 19 years of age. All boys who apply must be new to CPYB’s Academic Year Program and must be enrolled in the program before becoming eligible.

Audition and Application Deadlines 

In-person auditions for the Two-Year Male Ballet Scholarship are available on August 4, 2022. For those interested in submitting a video audition, all applications must be received by August 5, 2022.

Changing Lives Scholarship

An additional scholarship available from Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet for students who are registered for the Academic Year Program with CPYB includes the Changing Lives Scholarship. Those who are interested in applying for the Changing Lives Scholarship must already be accepted into the CPYB Academic Year Program along with the 5-Week Summer Ballet Program.
